Tracking Missing or Misplaced Parcels
CHALLENGES
A standard distribution centre tracks parcels by scanning the barcode labels pasted onto the packaging, but this method has little to no relation to CCTV cameras. In the event that a package is missing or fails a certain quality check, the end user will have to locate the barcode that was scanned and then go back to the CCTV system to search for that particular parcel. Additionally, some goods such as batteries or dairy products have to comply with temperature regulations. Thus, what if a solution is available to combine barcode, temperature, and CCTV visuals into a single solution for users to operate.
SOLUTION
Hanwha's brand-new TNS-9050IBC combines a 4K camera and a 4K monochrome barcode reader, capable of reading barcodes up to 2 meters away from any angle for as long as the barcode is visible to the camera, complying with the industry-standard Code128 format. It provides both visual aspects and barcode reading in a single unit. Additionally, EOS has developed its own barcode dashboard via TCP/IP, generating barcodes along with temperature readings from a thermal camera and a snapshot of the event, easing the process of locating, searching, and investigating critical events.
