Every system has native support (Base License) for a determined number of cameras. All of the systems offer an expansion of this number by way of license packs, which must be acquired separately.

Digifort Explorer has native support for 4 cameras and has expansion packs, being able to reach up to 16 cameras.

Digifort Standard has native support for 4 cameras and has expansion packs, being able to reach up to 32 cameras.

Digifort Professional has native support for 8 cameras and has expansion packs, being able to reach up to 64 cameras.

Digifort Enterprise has native support for 8 cameras and has expansion packs, being able to reach any number of cameras. Is important to point out that the software even having no limit to cameras, is limited to the processing power of the computer in which is installed, therefore the number of cameras that it can manage depends entirely on the hardware used. In tests carried out in our laboratories, we reached a number of 150 cameras in a Pentium Xeon Biprocessor of 3.06GHz, with 512 megabytes of memory and HD SCSI with an excellent performance.

To meet the growing demands for security solutions, Digifort implemented support for alarm devices.

An alarm device is basically an alarm board via a network (a device that has an RJ-45 port and that communicates by the network by way of TCP/IP) that contains alarm inputs and outputs that can be read and activated by the Digifort system.

An intelligent installation relies on various alarm devices and cameras interacting by events, all of which are centrally controlled by the Digifort System.

The Digifort Explorer and Digifort Standard systems, being basic systems, don t offer support for alarm devices.

The Digifort Professional software offers support for up to 6 alarm boards that can have any number of inputs/outputs (per board).

The Digifort Enterprise software offers support for an unlimited number of alarm boards that can have any number of inputs/outputs (per board).

This feature is available only for systems with client/server architecture.

With this feature, users will be able to connect to the server of the system by way of any computer in the network or via the Internet, whereby in the Professional and Enterprise versions there is no limit to users logged into the system.

The Digifort system was developed entirely in a Multi-Threading environment, as such it´s capable of administrating various simultaneous tasks such as recording of images from all cameras, reproduction of video, execution of movement look-up, management of the connections of the users, all in parallel, and this Multi-Threading environment always making use of the processing power of various processors, dividing the tasks among the processors, optimizing even more its performance.

The IP Filter feature allows the administrator to define a list of IPs that are authorized and unauthorized to access the Digifort server.

With this measure, is possible to block all external access to the server, freeing only the local network or even restricting access to only some stations of the local network.

The events log allows the system to register all of the events that occurred, as well as actions executed by the server in the occurrence of a given event.

The events that are registered can be of the type: Communication Failure, Recording Failure, Manual Event, Movement Detection, Timer Event, and Alarm Input.

All of the systems were developed for the Microsoft Windows platform.

Digifort works with Microsoft Windows XP/2003/2008/Vista/Seven .

The Digifort system has a complete system of rights for users, which allows the system administrator to define the rights that a user can have over the server and the cameras.

The Digifort system goes beyond the system of rights present in the systems of our competitors, to the contrary of those who implement the concept of level (administrator or operator), we implemented individual rights, which allow total flexibility for the operator. The figure shows the rights that the user has over the Digifort Server.

The limit of connections to the server specifies the number of connections that the server is capable of managing. To make this clear, when a user accesses the server via an administration client, this uses up 1 connection with the server. If the user connects to the server as a monitoring client, he uses up one more connection with the server and this connection will be used for the client administration and for the reproduction of video via the client, but each camera that is being monitored via monitoring client uses up 1 connection, that is, if a user connects via monitoring client and is visualizing 4 cameras simultaneously, he will be using up 5 connections with the server.

All of the versions of Digifort have the ability to manage any number of connections. In tests made in our laboratory, we were able to reach up to 2,000 connections in a Pentium IV 3.06Ghz with HT, but these were consuming 50% of the processor only for connection management. All systems were developed with the Microsoft Windows platform.
